Medium of Instruction and Curriculum
The medium of instruction is English. The school follows the curriculum and syllabus as prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
I to X STD
As per the CBSE directive a system of Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) is being followed.
A system of Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) which is purely a grading system with four Formative Assessments and two Summative Assessments. This includes assessment in scholastic as well as co-scholastic aspects. Scholastic aspect includes life skills, co-curricular, attributes and values. The assessment will be indicated in grades.
The grading scale for the scholastic domain is a ten point grading scale and for non-scholastics a five point grading scale will be followed .This system attempts to shift the emphasis from testing to holistic learning. It aims at creating good citizens possessing sound health, appropriate skills and desirable qualities besides academic excellence.

History
Marching towards another milestone of Vivekanandha Higher Secondary School, Sellaperumalpet, Lawspet, Puducherry, we continue to move forward towards our goal in futuristic education.

Class Rooms
The design specifications of our classrooms are very much comfortable to accommodate 50 students; however; the maximum capacity envisaged is 30 students. Each classroom is well equipped with the latest quality of study furniture, racks, pegs and many more features for the children to stack up their required study and activity materials. In addition, adhering to the global standards Vivekanandha School is committed to the “e-learning system” incorporated as integral part of the learning system. Smart boards with “e-content” are provided in all the classrooms.
Laboratory
Keeping in mind the increasing demand for practical-oriented / experiment-based education, we have taken steps to make our laboratories a State-of-the-art in teaching technology.The Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer laboratories are so modern that the scientific temperament of the students can be sharpened during the practical sessions.
Library
Our air-conditioned Library is well equipped with a variety of books for the seekers of knowledge. Right from its inception, the Vivekanandha Institution has been stressing the development of library. Our library is a treasure-trove, rich in subject books on various titles, such as Computer Science, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Economics, French, Tamil and English.
Most of them are recent publications. A special noteworthy feature of the library is the collection of a large number of reference books, Encyclopedia, Year Books, Current titles on G.K, Geographical Information System (GIS), and Educational reviews and abstracts.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Pupils are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities in the belief that is an essential aspect of their overall education, and complementary to their academic development, both of these components being essential in preparing our pupils of the classroom.
The students under the guidance of staff and faculty carry out an adult literacy campaign, environmental awareness programmes, medical camps and other service- oriented activities.
